Other Fun Facts I learned while doing research
- Cotton products (IE. Salon Towels, T-shirts, Socks/Underwear, etc.) can only block out 6-9% of UV light.
- Men typically have thicker skin than women.
- The thickest skin is on the soles of your feet and palms of your hands.
- The thinnest skin on humans is on a women's face.
- The shaft of the male penis has no epidermis.Only a double layer of dermis.
Making it almost impossible for it to hold (color) pigmentation.
- The eyelids and the skin on the penis are simlar Mucosal Membrane, IE. Lining of your eyes, lips, tip of (glans penis) penis, nostrils and inner ear, are not meant to be tanned and those areas cannot hold (color) pigmentation.
- This skin on the testicales is desinged specifically to absorb or emit heat as needed to insure sperm count.
- UV light can make you sterile.
- The male and female genitalia should not ever see the light of day or UV light from any other source.
Factors in UV resistant material:
- Type and weave of material is essential.
- Usage and wear over time breaks down material lessening SPF.
I'll leave you with a quote from Dr. Lance Frye, AKA Dr. Jock Sock: "If you're going to tan - Please tan responsibly"
Thanks,
Chille
